It’s spring already, although the weather might have us questioning that. Regardless the temperature you’re experiencing, these spring trends can be incorporated into your wardrobe now.

Icy Blues

CELINE

Pantone actually released this hue a few years ago, called Ice Water. It’s a soft blue that will suit most skin tones, and look elegant and fresh.

Go head-to-toe for a whimsical attire, color block it with red for added impact, or pair with cream or beige for an elegant, lady-like look. Personally, I’ll be wearing it with light denim.

High Rise Trousers

Veronica Beard

This is hardly news but they’re not going anywhere, anytime soon, and  couldn’t be happier about it. If you’ve never worn them or just tried them once, know that every new fit will take getting used to.

High rise is elegant, and adds instant polish to your appearance. They are also flattering in a lot of body types, especially in straight or wide leg styles.

This style, in trousers or jeans will look best with your top tucked in.

Roses

Dolce & Gabbana

Remember Miranda Priestly from Devil Wears Prada? “Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking!“. Before you jump on Miranda’s snarky wagon though, these florals aren’t really your regular florals!

For this trend we’re talking less Miranda Priestly, more Carrie Bradshaw type of floral. Think roses’ appliqués of all sizes… just roses, not the whole garden!

The best way to go about this trend will be Carrie style, with a rose brooch pinned to your blazer’s lapel, your shirt, dress…

Shine Bright

Stuart Weitzman

Though Holiday season may long b behind us, the dressing up is certainly not.

Metallics come as an unexpected trend for spring – usually the softer season – but they are welcome, and guaranteed to add lots of fun to your rotation.

For my clients’s entering a new party season (galas, soirées, weddings, etc) this opens a whole other array of possibilities. For everyone else don’t bee constricted by norm, and think you have to reserve it for night time. Balance is the operative word and thinking to fully take advantage of this trend. Pair your sparkles with denim to ground your look, or elevate a more simple, casual look by adding metallic shoes, bag and/or other accessories like belts.

Burgundy

CELINE

While bright red came to highlight the winter months, burgundy is here to ground all the pastels, and add some edge to our spring wardrobe.

Pair it with icy blues, denim or white (another spring trend) for contrast. Or go head-to-toe for a bold look. Accessories are also, always a great, and more subtle way to incorporate trends into your wardrobe.

Every season there are a million trends coming up (or coming back, I should say) to choose from. These are just some of my favorites.

Don’t ever feel like you have to follow any particular trend, let alone all trends. Find the things you like, that best go with your personal style, and with your wardrobe, and incorporate those. That will be all you need to keep your look fresh, and current.

Also, as I always tell my Clints, before you buy a new piece, take a look at your wardrobe. Fashion is cyclical and you might just have what you’re looking for, hanging right in your closet!

Not sure how to spot “old” trends for new? I can help with that. Email me so we can talk about your needs, and set something up.

Stay Stylish™ & Happy Spring,
